Try these first

  1. Restart Roblox Studio. Updates and new installs load when Studio starts. The listing was at v1.096 on 2026-10-17 and changes almost daily.
  2. Check the account. Studio must be signed in to the Roblox account that got the plugin.
  3. Check the listing. Open the official page (asset ID 86116556258301). The store has unrelated items called “Eclipse.”
  4. Work on a copy. Save your place, or test on a copy, before you try fixes on an important rig.

Plugin not showing in the Plugins tab

Symptom
You got the plugin, but there is no Eclipse button in Studio.
Likely cause
Roblox’s docs say a Creator Store plugin is added with the Install button and then shows up in the Plugins tab. If Studio was open, or signed in to another account, it will not appear yet.
Fix
Sign in with the right account and restart Studio. Then open Plugins → Manage Plugins and make sure Eclipse is listed and enabled. Full steps are in the install guide.

Eclipse won’t open, or the window is empty

Symptom
You click Eclipse and nothing happens, or you only see an empty or half-drawn panel.
Likely cause
Eclipse animates a rig in an open place. The official tutorial starts by putting a rig in the place (0:11) before opening Eclipse and creating a new project (0:24). The window can also be docked somewhere off to the side.
Fix
Open a place, insert a rig, then open Eclipse and start a new project (tutorial at 0:11). If the window is lost, re-dock it (2:47). If Studio’s Output window shows a red error from Eclipse, copy it and post it in the official Discord.

Export fails or the animation does not play

Symptom
Export does nothing, or the exported animation does not play in your game.
Likely cause
There are two separate steps: exporting from Eclipse (tutorial at 2:57), then publishing and playing the animation with Roblox’s normal tools. Many “export” problems are in the second step.
Fix
Follow the export step in the tutorial at 2:57, then test the result in a blank place. For cutscenes and scripted animation, the listing also has a Module Exporter that turns them into script files. Our beginner tutorial walks through the whole flow.

Not every animation bug is Eclipse. On October 14, 2026, several DevForum users reported that importing animations in Roblox’s own Animation Editor failed with a Toolbox error, and one said it happened without Eclipse installed. If the built-in editor fails too, the problem is in Studio, not the plugin.

Live session won’t connect

Symptom
You start a live session to animate with a friend, but they cannot join or do not see your changes.
Likely cause
The developers have not published how live sessions connect, so we cannot say for sure. Two things are known. Roblox’s docs say a plugin may ask for permission the first time it contacts a web address. Also, on launch day users reported the store page and Discord going down under load.
Fix
Make sure both of you restarted Studio and are on the latest version. If Studio shows a permission prompt for Eclipse, allow it. If you denied one earlier, change it in Plugin Management. Follow the setup in the tutorial at 5:29. If it still fails, report it in the Discord.

Blender import or sync issues

The free Eclipse Blender add-on starts a small local server on your computer (127.0.0.1, port 49186, per its source code), and the plugin connects to it. Roblox’s docs confirm that plugins can talk to software on the same computer through localhost and 127.0.0.1. Messages below are shown by the add-on itself.

Message or symptomLikely causeFix
“Start the server, then connect from an Eclipse file.”The add-on’s server is off.In Blender, open View3D › Sidebar › Eclipse and click Start Server. Then use Blender Import inside an open Eclipse file.
“Connect from an Eclipse file first”You clicked Send Animation before Eclipse connected.Open a file in Eclipse and choose Blender Import, then send again.
Eclipse never connects, no errorStudio may be waiting for, or may have denied, the plugin’s permission to reach a local address.Allow the prompt. If you denied it, change it in Plugin Management. Make sure only one copy of Blender is running the server.
“Eclipse file changed; reconnect”You opened a different file in Eclipse.Run Blender Import again from the file you want.
“Blender is busy; try again”Blender is still working on the previous request.Wait for it to finish, then try again.
“Studio left out N texture files”Some textures were not included when the rig was exported. Those surfaces use their Roblox color. The animation still works; re-apply textures in Blender if you need them.
“Another Eclipse armature exporter is registered”An older standalone exporter add-on is still on.Disable the old exporter in Blender’s preferences and enable Eclipse again.
Add-on won’t installThe add-on needs Blender 4.2 or newer.Update Blender and install the latest zip from the GitHub releases page.

Rig teleports when you open or close Eclipse

On October 15, 2026, one DevForum user reported that their rig jumped to the same position every time they opened or closed the animator. Moving only the HumanoidRootPart and resetting with U + P did not help, and nobody posted a fix. We have not seen other reports. If it happens to you, test on a copy of the rig and send a short clip to the developers in the Discord.

Can’t move or rotate in fixed steps

A community reply on the DevForum (not the developers) says to hold Ctrl while moving or rotating to snap, and Ctrl + Shift for one tenth of the step. The step size is in the plugin’s settings. Other keys are on the shortcuts page.

How to report a bug

  • Post in the official Discord. The DevForum launch thread points people there too.
  • Include your version (shown on the listing), Windows or Mac, the steps that cause the bug, and any red text from Studio’s Output window.
  • Do not install “fixed” copies from other sites. The plugin is only on the Creator Store. See is it safe?
